A minibus caught fire last night in an incident that is currently being investigated by police.

The fire started at around 11:55pm last night in Triq Dun Karm in Iklin. Members of the Civil Protection Department, as well as police officers, were called onto the scene to put out the blaze.

No one was injured in the fire, though the minibus received extensive damage.

Magistrate Yana Micallef Stafrace has opened an inquiry into the sudden minibus fire.

The fire comes on the same day a skip caught fire right outside a popular Maltese school on many students’ first day back.
