Watch: Moviment Graffitti Activist – Regulate Property Market And End People’s Suffering
Prominent Moviment Graffitti activist Andre Callus has said the time has come to regulate the property market, warning many people are forced to spend a huge chunk of their wages just to have a roof over their heads.
Speaking on TVM’s current affairs discussion program Insights, Callus noted a large number of people are spending their lives in debt to buy or rent a place to live.
“The property market is causing pain, especially among the youth. We must rein in the market and build an economic model that seeks the equitable distribution of wealth instead of unfettered growth.”

The activist warned that while politicians tend to view rising prices as a positive economic sign, as the value of homeowners’ assets would have increased, the notion that a thriving property market is good for everyone is a false image.
In reality, he argued, the poor and middle class are locked in a cycle of suffering.
“We must rein in the market and build an economic model that seeks the equitable distribution of wealth instead of unfettered growth.”
“The government must regulate the market,” he affirmed, noting the backlash this kind of common receives from those who work within the business.
Do you think Malta’s property market should have some regulations?
