Watch: MP Claudette Buttigieg Urges PN To Refrain From Issuing Proposals Well In Advance
Nationalist MP Claudette Buttigieg has urged her party to refrain from presenting policy proposals too far in advance of the general election.
“I am going to be truly honest with you,” Buttigieg told PN delegates at the General Council last weekend.
“I think we should stop presenting our proposals from now. Others [within the PL] don’t have any ideas of their own and the few ideas they had have dried up.”

“When we present our proposals, they first make fun of us, then they criticise them, and then they make them their own and take credit for them themselves. So I think we should stop doing this.”
Instead, she suggested the PN should focus its energy on promoting a vision of “excellence”, which she compared to visions previous leaders had of an independent Malta, EU accession, and adoption of the euro.
