Six police officers were called to duty this afternoon to apprehend a man who was swimming naked at Spinola Bay.

Footage posted on social media by an eyewitness shows the man casually doing the butterfly stroke between fishing boats, seemingly oblivious to the police presence at the bay.

The footage shows a police officer signalling to the swimmer as police sirens blare in the distance, indicating back-up was on the way. The footage stops there but eyewitnesses said the man continued ignoring the police officers, prompting at least six officers to hop on a boat, chase him down and apprehend him. The swimmer’s current status is not yet known.
