Watch: Nazzareno Dalli Pleads Not Guilty To Stabbing Two Young Girls
Nazzareno Dalli has pleaded not guilty after being charged with stabbing two young sisters, 12 and 15 years old, at their home in Marsa on Sunday.
Dalli, a 43-year-old Bormla resident, was arraigned today in front of duty magistrate Caroline Farrugia Frendo and charged with stabbing the two girls, holding them against their will, possession of a weapon, and possession of cocaine.
He was also charged with acting as a guardian without a proper license, and of relapsing.
Dalli, who is being represented by lawyers Arthur Azzopardi, Franco Debono, and Nicholas Mifsud didn’t request bail at this stage and was kept in custody.
According to TVM, the accused was the former partner of the girls’ mother, who was out shopping for groceries at the time of the crime.
The younger sister was allegedly stabbed 17 times and had to be taken to Mater Dei’s intensive therapy unit, while the 15-year-old sustained grievous hand injuries, and their 14-year-old boy, who was present during the chaotic ordeal, had to be treated for shock.
