Watch: New PN CEO Says She Wrote ‘Two-Car Tax’ Post In Heat Of The Moment

New PN CEO Sabine Agius Cabourdin insisted that neither she nor the Nationalist Party are in favour of taxing households with multiple cars.
Interviewed on Andrew Fuq Campus 103.7, Agius Cabourdin was questioned about a 2019 Facebook post she had written which called for a two-car tax.
Transport Minister Chris Bonett recently referenced this post and pledged not to burden people with extra car-related costs.
“I’m ashamed to say that the Transport Minister grabbed a Facebook post from 2019, when I was a private individual and probably wrote something in the heat of the moment,” she said.
“I don’t remember what I wrote. I don’t remember I ate yesterday, let alone what I ate in 2019 or 2022.”
“However, when I wrote that post, I was probably frustrated in my car as three quarters of Maltese people feel when driving.”
She pledged that the PN will “never” introduce a tax on households with multiple cars, even out of respect to car hobbyists.
“People have different hobbies. I like walking in the countryside. Others like training at the gym, going on holiday, or cars. As if I or the PN will take that away from them.”
