Watch: New Trailer For ‘Are You The One UK’ – Entirely Shot In Malta – Reveals Steamy Drama Ahead
One of MTV’s romance reality shows has been given a UK makeover – and it was filmed in Malta in its entirety.
Are You The One sees young and looking-for-love singletons trying to find their soulmate using matchmaking technology.
With the US version being a hit, the show’s been brought over the pond for a UK edition, with a grand prize of £200,000 up for grabs.
Today, the trailer for the show has just been released, but Malta clearly appearing as the setting for the new season.
“Are You The One UK trailer is out now! Fully shot in Malta – the popular dating series that uses modern technology to help people find love arrives in the UK for its first season,” the Malta Film Commission said, sharing the trailer.
The trailer saw contestants running around Maltese villas, as well as take on a number of events – and romantic dates – in sites all over the island.
“The show’s format will be based on the original U.S. series, following 20 singletons as they each set out to find their science-based Perfect Match — who is somewhere in the house. If contestants manage to uncover the 10 Perfect Matches before the end of the season, they will be rewarded with both love and a hefty cash prize.”
Fans of steamy drama will be happy to hear that the first season of this new show is set to turn the heat up in every way, with the trailer featuring a good amount of PDA and tension.
The show is set to be released in 2022, though an exact date has not been announced yet, though fans of Love Island and similar shows may as well already get the popcorn ready for the debut episode.
