Watch: ‘One Of You Is…’: New PL Candidate Focuses On Mental Health In Campaign Launch
New PL MEP candidate Marija Sara Vella Gafà zeroed in on everyday mental health challenges as she kicked off her campaign last weekend.
“One of you here recently certainly switched on your TV or phone and saw nothing but negativity,” the current Gudja mayor told an audience at Villa Arrigo.
“One of you woke up and found it hard to start your day. One of you might be worried that your son or daughter is obsessed with screens and glued to their phone. One of you wakes up at night in a state of delirium, their heart beating with anxiety. One of you might be going through a rough separation.”

“Some of you might be looking in the mirror and thinking about you youth that has unfortunately passed you by. One of you might be considering getting into debt to buy an expensive house, maybe like those we all see on social media, that you cannot afford.”
Vella Gafà said that if she gets elected in June, she will observe best EU practices with regards to mental health and seek to apply for Malta and push for more schools, better education and more awareness-raising for people with autism.
