Watch: Pelin’s Last Moments Captured As She Celebrates Her Birthday
Turkish media published video footage of Pelin Kaya celebrating her 30th birthday, just a few moments before last week’s tragic incident which took her life.
The 30-year-old Turkish woman’s story has broken the nation’s heart.
On Wednesday morning, driver Jeremie Camilleri crashed into Pelin, in Gżira.

Many are reacting to the video, describing it as heartbreaking.
”Her birthday wish will never come true, what a pity. Rest in peace beautiful lady,” one comment says.
In the footage, Pelin is seen smiling surrounded by her friends, as she makes her last birthday wish – the footage itself is a recording of a videocall.
Her story, as well as many others’ like Paulina’s and Bernice’s, are raising concern and controversy in the country.
“This staggering statistic exposes the systemic failures and neglect of those in power, as innocent lives are tragically cut short and families are left to grieve. It is unacceptable that individuals should lose their lives simply for being outside and traversing the streets,” lawyer Martina Caruana said.
