Watch: PL’s Steve Ellul Urges People Of Israel To ‘Get Rid Of Netanyahu’
PL MEP candidate Steve Ellul urged the people of Israel to “get rid” of Benjamin Netanyahu and elect a new Prime Minister in light of the atrocities that are going on in Gaza.
Speaking yesterday at an Ewropej fil-Pjazza debate, organised by Lovin Malta and MaltaToday, Ellul warned that Israel is committing “genocide” in Gaza but sought to draw a line between the IDF’s actions and the desires of the people of Israel.
Ellul noted that Israel recently commemorated Yom HaShoah, a remembrance day for the millions of Jews murdered by the Nazis in the Holocaust.
“It really saddens me to say this, because I love the Jewish people, but Israel is perpetuating what it suffered itself many years ago,” he said. “I appeal to Israel to get rid of Netanyahu as soon as possible, as the US President told them to.”
Volt candidate Matthias Iannis Portelli concurred, stating that “the government doesn’t always represent the people, and unfortunately that’s what we’re seeing in Israel today”.
