Watch: PN Secretary General Calls Out ‘North Korea Style Propaganda’ At Mużika Mużika

New PN secretary general Charles Bonello has accused the government of imposing “North Korea-style propaganda” at the Mużika Mużika festival.
Delivering a speech ahead of Freedom Day, Bonello said he wanted to cast an eye on the “circumstances in which people will celebrate the public holiday.”
“We live in a country where families aren’t free to live decent lives due to the burden of the cost of living, and where travelling from A to B requires you to spend ages in traffic. People don’t feel free because national security has gone to dogs, and living without fear has become something of the past.”
“If you switch on TVM you will see that free expression is no more. You don’t even feel free when watching a music festival as you’re forced to listen to partisan propaganda as happens in North Korea.”
PN media house NET had previously criticised the government for “turning Mużika Mużika into a platform for partisan politics,” citing the airing of government adverts and the inclusion of Labour’s classic anthem Tema ’79.
