Watch: ‘Politically Stupid’ – Stagno Navarra Calls Out Fgura Mayor For Clashing With PL Councillors

Karl Stagno Navarra has criticised Fgura mayor Clayton Cascun Portelli for clashing with three PL councillors at a recent meeting, calling the move “politically stupid”.
“This isn’t a personal attack on the mayor. I am merely criticising the way he spoke to the councillors when he warned them that he will kick them out of the meeting,” Stagno Navarra said.
“The councillors’ decision to walk out afterwards was up to them but one shouldn’t talk like this during a council meeting. It is prepotent, ridiculous, and also politically stupid since Fgura’s minority leader (Charles Bonello) is also the PN’s secretary general.”
“The PN has already had a party over that clip of the mayor threatening to kick our own councillors out of the meeting.”
“Hardheadness isn’t good for anyone. I am and will remain a PL supporter, but I expect better and Fgura deserves better too.”
Cascun Portelli threatened to expel deputy mayor Darren Marmarà and PL councillors Adrian Tanti and Josianne Scicluna from a recent local council meeting over a dispute revolving around a planning application for an apartment block on one of Fgura’s oldest buildings.
Marmarà said that after he, Tanti and Scicluna had requested a breakdown of extra costs for an appeal against the application, the mayor gave the impression that they were against the actual appeal.
