Watch: Popular Birgufest Cancelled Due To Works In Main Square
The popular event Birgufest, which was set to take place in October, has been cancelled due to ongoing works in the main square.
“This decision was taken during a council meeting held in this regard, after professional advice together with those of the authorities concerned, given for health and safety reasons in relation to the situation of the Birgu Main Square project,” the local council announced on Facebook.

The council explained that the priority of the decision was to ensure the health and safety of both residents and attendees, while also minimising any further inconvenience to the ongoing work in the square.
The event has been rescheduled for next year, with the new dates set for 10th and 11th October.
