Watch: Thousands March In Valletta On 5th Anniversary Of Daphne Caruana Galizia’s Murder

Thousands marched through Valletta’s streets last night commemorating the 5th anniversary since Daphne Caruana Galizia’s murder.
The march was led by a number of people that have been instrumental in the fight for justice, as well as members of her family, who held the banner at the very front.
It commenced from Freedom Square in front of Parliament and continued on all through Republic street.
Chants that originated back in the 2019 protests resurfaced once again, as protesters called for justice and reminded everyone that “Daphne was right”.
Many protesters also held the flag of the Maltese islands up high, along with portraits of Daphne herself.
At the vigil in front of the law courts, European Parliament President Roberta Metsola first addressed the crowd, followed by Italian mafia activist Maria Falcone.
Speeches were also given by Repubblika president Robert Aquilina, Daphne’s niece Megan Mallia, Manuel Delia, journalist Carole Cadwalladr, and Caoilfhionn Gallagher.
Two days before Daphne’s anniversary, the Degiorgio brothers pleaded guilty to murdering Daphne Caruana Galizia, with them being sentenced to 40 years in prison.
