Watch: Rabat Mayor Publishes Footage Of Street Grate Theft: ‘Someone Could Have Died’
Rabat mayor Sandro Craus has published shocking footage of a man ripping off a street grate and dumping it in the boot of his car.
“This person robbed a street grate where rainwater passes, leaving a metre-deep open hole in the street,” Craus said of the theft that occurred in Triq Għajn Qajjet, Rabat.
“Someone could have easily died.”
He thanked the people who quickly reported the footage to the council and the maintenance workers who installed a replacement grate, adding that the video has been passed on to the police.
