Watch: ‘Ram Tumuluri Didn’t Even Have Money For Shoes To Meet Konrad Mizzi’ – Azzopardi Highlights Sharma Testimony

Lawyer Jason Azzopardi has zeroed in on an intriguing aspect of the recently-published Vitals inquiry concerning its former boss Ram Tumuluri.
In an interview on Andrew Azzopardi’s RTK show, Azzopardi noted the testimony of Kamal Sharma with regards Tumuluri, the Canadian-Indian businessman who was in charge of Vitals.
Sharma said that Vitals investor Shaukat Ali told him that Tumuluri had fallen on hard times after he was declared bankrupt in Canada.

When the two met at a hotel, Tumuluri allegedly proposed to Ali a public-private partnership in the health sector to be used as a global model, and Ali told him that he would take it to his connections in Malta as a potential case study.
“On the day that Shaukat Ali met Ram Tumuluri, he told me Ram Tumuli’s shoes were torn, he didn’t have any money to buy shoes, Shaukat Ali bought Ram Tumuluri a pair of shoes that he could wear to meet with Konrad Mizzi,” Sharma said.

Former Accutor director Tyrone Greenshields told the inquiry that Tumuluri “was clearly a puppet for Shaukat Ali”.
“Shaukat Ali, who is corrupt, had fled Libya with Gaddafi’s millions… they will behead him if he returns to Libya,” Azzopardi said. “John Dalli introduced him to Joseph Muscat and he became their business partner.”
“Shaukat Ali had no health experience, and he found an operator called Oliver Twist because he had torn shoes, he was worse than a shoemaker.”
“This is the person we gave three hospitals to, and Joseph Muscat said he knew nothing about it.”
