Parliamentary Secretary for Equality and Reforms Rebecca Buttigieg sat down with Lovin Malta’s Tim Diacono for a 40-minute interview.

Buttigieg discussed the new law which allows non-binary people to identify as ‘Gender X’ on their birth certificates, and the implications of this law, including on prison sentences, sports and possible future changes.

She also expressed her opinions on Andrew Tate and Donald Trump, but refused to give her personal opinion on whether Malta should legalise abortion, only repeatedly stressing the need for a national discussion.

In this interview, Buttigieg also revealed plans to ban HHC products, including gummy bears, brownies and lollipops, due to concerns that they are extremely accessible to children.
