Watch: ‘Roberta Metsola Doesn’t Deserve A Second Term’, Labour MEP Candidate Says
Labour MEP candidate Daniel Attard has said he doesn’t believe Roberta Metsola deserves a second term as European Parliament President.
In an interview with Lovin Malta, Attard said he doesn’t believe Metsola has used her powerful position to the benefit of the people of Malta.
“There were times she attacked Malta while defending other countries,” she said.

“You only need to see what happened in Bulgaria, where she defended the Bulgarian government and was labelled ‘Miss Mafia’ by Bulgarian activists. Meanwhile, Maltese activists described her as a genocide enabler.”
“There was also the situation of her sister’s husband. She is doing in Brussels what we find scandalous in Malta. Had journalists not exposed her plan to appoint her brother-in-law to the highest position in the European Parliament, she would have kept on going.”
“Naturally, there was also the Qatargate issue when Transparency International said loud and clear that she spoke a lot about it but did nothing in practice. So in this context, I don’t believe that Roberta Metsola deserves a second term as European Parliament President.”
Asked to rate Metsola’s tenure, Attard gave her a four out of ten.
