Watch: Rosianne’s Return? Independent MP Doesn’t Rule Out Contesting For PL In Next Election
Independent MP Rosianne Cutajar is leaving the door wide open to rejoining the Labour Party and even contesting the next general election as a PL candidate.
Lovin Malta approached Cutajar outside Parliament yesterday to ask whether her recent presence at the PL’s general conference was a sign that she is going to rejoin the PL.
“I received an invitation to attend the conference and I accepted wholeheartedly,” she responded. “The PL is my second home and I enjoyed meeting and speaking to people. Obviously one must wait and see what will happen in the future.”
Cutajar confirmed that the invitation was sent directly from the PL, as well as from Prime Minister Robert Abela.

She refused to rule out contesting the next election.
“We’re a while away from the election. I’m still here at the disposition of the people and this very morning, I was in Qormi speaking to people and helping them with their needs,” she said.
“People know that if they seek me they’ll find me, and then we’ll see what will happen in the future.”
Asked to clarify what her current relationship with Abela and the PL is, Cutajar said she doesn’t wish to comment but that she has “a good relationship with everyone”.
Once one of the PL’s most promising MPs, Cutajar was forced out of the party’s parliamentary group last April after Mark Camilleri published her WhatsApp chat history with murder suspect Yorgen Fenech. However, she chose to keep her seat as an independent MP.
