A search and rescue operation is currently underway in Sliema after five people fell into the sea just a few moments ago.

A helicopter was dispatched, while members of the police force, the Armed Forces of Malta, CPD, and a medical team are in the area. 

Police were called on-site at around 2.45pm, with the incident occurring in the area of Surfside in Sliema.

Sources close to Lovin Malta even reported that there’s a lot of commotion in the area right now, with police confirming that a search and rescue mission was underway.
