The violent moment a man on the run from police over a February attack was arrested has been caught on footage that is going viral.

The man, a 33-year-old Serbian wanted in connection to a 17th February fight that left one man injured in Marsaskala, had been on the run since the alleged attack. However, he was spotted in a Gżira establishment near the pool, and the moment police officers arrested him was caught on film.

In the footage, first posted by ONE, police and Rapid Intervention Unit officers can be seen grappling with the man, who is wearing nothing but black speedos, and resisting strongly. A number of officers manhandle the aggressor as he twists and turns, before they take him to the ground.

However, he is soon able to get back up, and continues to struggle as swimmers, tanners and bathers watch in shock.
