Watch: Shark Spotted Near Delimara Bay
A group of fishermen had a close encounter with a shark while out fishing off Delimara Bay’s coast, near Marsaxlokk.
In the video, the shark, believed to be a mako shark, swims near the fishermen’s boat as the two men remain relaxed.
Its fin first appears right above the water, before the fishermen get a closer look at the creature.

Mako sharks have been spotted in Maltese waters before, sometimes being mistaken for Great Whites, though they are much smaller.
The footage ended with the fisherman being thankful they saw such a unique creature – and that their encounter ended so peacefully.
