Exactly one year since its first performance, Mid-Djarju ta’ Student fi Skola tal-Knisja has officially become the longest-running theatrical production in Maltese history.
During his 71st sold-out show last night, Mużika Mużika winner Jamie Cardona was presented with a national record by The Malta Records for the highest number of performances of a self-written play.

The one-man show, which first hit the stage in April 2024, has resonated with audiences across the country thanks to Jamie’s hilarious and heartfelt portrayal of Maltese teenage life in a church school.
Written and performed by Jamie himself, and directed by Vikesh Godhwani, the show uses a fictional diary to take audiences through moments of adolescence, awkward self-discovery and moral chaos.
The production has sold out every single performance and with demand still going strong, the team has confirmed the run will continue for as long as tickets keep selling.
One year on, and 71 shows later, Mid-Djarju ta’ Student fi Skola tal-Knisja has cemented itself as a record-breaking piece of Maltese theatre.
Well done goes to Jamie and his team!
