Watch: St Julian’s Residence Roof Partially Collapses In Early Hours Of The Morning

A residential roof in St Julian’s partially collapsed earlier this week and a police investigation has been opened to determine the cause.

Police confirmed with Lovin Malta that their assistance was required in Triq Sur Fons, Balluta Bay on 22nd November at around 3:30am.

“The Police went on site and preliminary investigation showed that part of a residential roof collapsed and no one was injured. The Civil Protection members were also called onsite to assist,” a police spokesperson said. Police investigations are still ongoing.”

Video footage sent to Lovin Malta shows fire engines and an ambulance on site too, and a neighbour said that a block of flats had to be evacuated.

A number of residential roofs around the island have collapsed in recent years, including in Isla, Floriana and Ħamrun.
