Watch: ‘Stupid People From Another Country’ – Maltese Woman’s Racist Balcony Rant Goes Viral
A video showing a Maltese woman angrily shouting “to go back to your country” from her balcony to an unknown person has gone viral.
“You’re stupid people, that’s what you are, from another country. Go back to your country, we don’t need foolish people like you.”
“Shut up you fool,” she continued. “You think we don’t know how to speak like you? You don’t know how to speak like us… but we are intelligent people not like you, you’re stupid, go away, go away… don’t like like that, you are rubbish, that’s why you talk like that.”
When another person chimes in, she turns her glare on her, calling the woman maħmuga (dirty woman).

It is unclear what led to the rant, and whether an incident prior to the video being filmed had taken place.
Online, people condemned the woman for her racist remarks, while others said they wanted to know “both sides of the story”.
However, using the xenophobic trope of “go back to your country” in public with the historically racist connotations it carries can rarely, if ever, be excused.
The original video, posted by user @erdissgjishti, has racked up nearly 100,000 views since it was published yesterday.
