Camilleri has been described as a health fitness enthusiast, with a criminal past involving robbery and bomb scares.

Camilleri was reportedly high on cocaine when he ran into 30-year-old Turkish citizen Pelin Kaya in Gżira, killing her.

The man was driving a BMW when he drove into a petrol station and the side of a KFC restaurant in Gżira at around 1am this morning.

The man reportedly became aggressive after he exited the crashed car, even with people who tried to check up on the victim, as well as police officers who arrived on the scene.

He is currently in police custody.
