A new video exploring the entire history of Malta – and condensing it into just 11 minutes – has hit YouTube. The channel, Captivating History, which has over 215,000 subscribers on YouTube, explored the topic in one of the latest videos, named ‘The Mystery of a Small Island’.

Exploring everything from the island’s strategic locations to its significant role throughout the development of the Mediterranean, this is a whirlwind tour through the key aspects of the islands’ past.
Though some facts are arguable (such as the islands’ names, and which islands actually make up the archipelago) it gives a good overall look at the island’s captivating past, from the Phoenicians to the Knights of St John to the French to Malta becoming independent – and everything in between.
