Two young Maltese women, Maxine Aquilina and Angie Amato, have come together to set a not-for-profit organisation called Jays of Sunshine. Maxine and Angie came together to set up Jays of Sunshine after the two of them unfortunately lost their mothers, Jackie and Josette, to cancer.

The purpose of Jays of Sunshine will be to visit the children and young people at the Rainbow Ward at Mater Dei, and helping to be a bright ray of sunshine in what can often be a rather cloudy time in the lives of these patients and their family. Anyone who wants to get involved can send an email to [email protected]

They will also be raising funds in an attempt to make the dreams and wishes of the patients and families become a reality. Information on how to donate to their cause can be found below.

We wish you the best of luck, Maxine and Angie! Here’s to all the inspiring and hard working individuals like yourselves.
