WATCH: Vegan Protestors Denied Entry To Marsa Abattoir: ‘You Must See That Blood Is Spilled’

Vegans in Malta took to the Marsa abattoir this week to request access for filming inside but were denied against potential health and safety violations.

Darryl Grima of Malta Meat Free Week, highlights the fact that the abattoir is a public entity and should therefore allow the protesters entry into the premises.

“We want the people to see,” he tells the viewers, “then it your choice.” Students are regularly taken on field trips to the abattoir, alleges Darryl, and as it is a public entity funded by taxes, it is open to the public so they should have a visitors policy.

“You have to see that blood is spilled.”

The protesters were hoping to get inside and film the process by which the animals are slaughtered, however the abattoir has reportedly denied the group entrance “without reason”.

The video ends with a clip of a van carrying sheep into the gates, before shortly returning empty.
