Watch: ‘We Speak A Lot’ – Metsola Praises Ian Borg’s Work As Malta’s Foreign Affairs Minister
European Parliament President Roberta Metsola had words of praise for Malta’s Foreign Affairs Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ian Borg.
In a new interview with Lovin Malta’s Tim Diacono, Metsola said she believes that Borg is doing a good job as Foreign Affairs Minister.
“We speak a lot, and we agree on some issues and disagree on others,” Metsola said. “However, I certainly won’t judge him on what he says because of his political affiliation. I will do the complete opposite of what Robert Abela does in my regard.”
However, she wouldn’t weigh in on whether she thinks Borg will make a better Prime Minister than Abela, simply stating that such a decision would be up to the Labour Party.
Although the Labour Party has campaigned heavily against Metsola, claiming that her “hands are stained in blood” as a result of the Gaza war, Borg has repeatedly spoken of the European Parliament President in a positive light.
He confirmed he has a good relationship with her and even celebrated her re-election as European Parliament President last year.
