Watch: ‘We Want Every Single Euro Back’: Adrian Delia Gives Impassioned Speech At Huge Valletta Protest

Nationalist MP and former leader Adrian Delia delivered an impassioned speech in front of a crowd of thousands of people in Valletta as he demanded that public funds that were passed to Vitals and Steward be returned to the nation.
“Malta has won. We stopped a robbery of €4,000 million that was going to be robbed of your taxes and the sweat of those who work honestly every day,” Delia told a PN protest.
He said that the figure is so massive that it was akin to the government robbing around €20,000 from everyone present at the PN’s protest.
“That’s €20,000 robbed from each of you, and then they give you cheques and speak of bonuses,” he said.
Delia ripped into Prime Minister Robert Abela, his predecessor Chris Fearne, Attorney General Victoria Buttigieg, as well as Vitals and Steward.
He also questioned how Bank of Valletta agreed to grant Steward a €35 million loan, especially considering how meticulous the bank usually is when it comes to due diligence.
Delia pledged to keep on fighting until the €400 million that Steward and Vitals have already obtained from the public coffers is repaid.
“People want their money back, give us our money back!”
At one point, Delia urged people not to insult PL voters, stating he knows “thousands of Labourites who believe in and love their country and feel angry, deceived and betrayed”.
“Besides the robbery and fraud, this was the greatest ever betrayal of the people of Malta,” he said.
“This won’t end here. If you think justice takes place in court, my response is that it does but not only. When robbers are caught, they shouldn’t just be investigated and go to prison but they must return every euro they stole. This time the robbery was from within.”
“If one voice can be heard, let alone how much we can be heard if we speak out together. We want justice, truth and righteousness to triumph, but above all I wish that what happened in court last week, in Parliament on Monday and in Valletta today keeps growing day and day.”
“We sowed the seeds of hope. When the Maltese are robbed, they all stand up together and say Malta deserves better.”
Other speeches were given by Opposition Leader Bernard Grech, UĦM general secretary, and student Michaela Ann Bayliss.
