Watch: Wolt Driver Pelted With A Stone While On Duty In St Julian’s
A Wolt driver was pelted with a rock while on duty in St Julian’s last weekend by what seems to be a group of teenage boys.
“I was lucky I did not crash my bike,” the driver told Lovin Malta.
The man was driving down Triq ix-Xatt Ta’ San Ġorg on Friday at 9.30pm when around four or five guys came out of nowhere and threw a rock at him.
He then stopped suddenly and turned to drive back toward their direction. Upon noticing that he was coming back, the boys quickly began running away as the driver shouted something at them.
Fortunately, he didn’t get hurt because he was wearing three jackets that acted as protective layers but he felt the stone and suddenly stopped out of shock.
“What if I crashed on my bike and I broke my arm? It’s not right if this is what they do for fun,” he told the newsroom.
The food delivery driver reported the incident to the police and Lovin Malta is awaiting a comment.
This is not the first time that youths in Malta attacked food couriers in what seems to be a distasteful joke.
Back in November, a group of youths threw eggs at a Bolt driver while he was riding his motorbike in Marsa. Busam Srinivas told Lovin Malta that youths had been egging food delivery drivers in that vicinity every weekend for several weeks.
