Watch: Young MP Eve Borg Bonello Quotes Brikkuni Song At Major PN Event
Young PN MP Eve Borg Bonello was inspired by the alternative band Brukkuni when delivering a speech at the Nationalist Party’s General Council today.
“To close off, I will steal a few words from a song… no, I don’t want to live in Dubai, far less Singapore,” Borg Bonello said.
This was a direct quote from Alla lliberani, an anarchic anthem that Brikkuni released amid Malta’s 2019 political crisis.
“I want to live in Malta,” Borg Bonello said. “Malta isn’t Dubai or Singapore and thank God for that.”
“The PL wants to turn us into that, a country where the few at the top live the life and pig out while others suffer. I want to live in the Malta that our forefathers fought for, with all the potential that our Mediterranean island has to offer.”
