As she walked back home following a late university lecture, young PN activist Jade England couldn’t help but realise how dangerous the streets were to her own safety.

The video shows England walking on an extremely narrow pavement as she approached the between Mater Dei and Swatar.

It is also a dark area of town, with the activist warning that drivers wouldn’t have even been able to see her.

After her short, but risky, walk home, England sent out a message to the authorities.

“Before you tell us to walk or to use bicycles or scooters, make sure the roads and pavements are safe enough,” she said. “You can’t expect us to do otherwise when you don’t provide us with the help we need.”

England rose to prominence last month when she addressed a PN protest in Valletta, accusing Prime Minister Robert Abela of “robbing her future” and pushing several youths to leave Malta for good.
