‘We Are All So Proud Of You’: Xagħra Mayor Praises Chef Francesco
Chef Francesco’s MasterChef Malta performances have earned him the praise of the mayor of his hometown of Xagħra.
After the fan favourite’s dramatic exit from the show last night, mayor Victor Curmi had words of praise for the chef.
“Francesco, although yesterday was the last time we saw you on MasterChef, I can say that Malta, Gozo, and especially us from Xagħra, are truly proud of the talents you have,” he said.
“You managed to enchant everyone who followed the show. Well done.”
Francesco’s elimination, following a dessert challenge, proved to be quite controversial and many people have questioned the fairness of the format.
Although Francesco and Christina, as a team, were the clear winners in last week’s challenge, the judges announced that there wouldn’t be an elimination and that two chefs will go home in the following episode.
After Chef Ian was eliminated in the first round, the chefs were put through their paces to craft a selection of desserts. As it happened, Francesco and Christina were deemed to have presented the weakest two dishes, and the judges decided to send the Gozitan chef home.
