‘We Have Proof!’: Abused Dogs Being Returned To Owner, Moira Delia Claims As She Shares Photos

Prominent animal activist and TV host Moira Delia has shared photos of a malnourished dog, claiming that Animal Welfare is “refusing to confiscate” animals in poor or abusive conditions.

“Often when dogs are found roaming desperately on our streets, if chipped, they are being given back to their abusers. We have proof!” Delia said.

Delia shared a photo of a malnourished dog alongside a small patio it allegedly lives in, in seemingly poor conditions.

“This is unheard of and truly devastating! Horrifying for the poor animals too.”

Delia slammed the state’s slow response to animal abuse reports.

“The pens Animal Welfare that promised and stated will be ready 16 months ago are still nowhere ready to host these poor neglected dogs. From our recent and long experiences, although inspections are being carried out, no confiscations are taking place and animals are left to suffer!”

Delia ended by urging the public to raise their voices and put pressure on authorities, tagging Animal Rights Minister Anton Refalo and the Prime Minister’s wife Lydia Abela.

“Maybe one day, one day… We will be heard and this problem – one of the many – will be finally addressed,” she said.

Do you think Malta’s pet welfare situation is adequate?
