As Met Office Issues ‘Yellow’ Warning Following Yesterday’s Heatwave, Here’s What The Weather In Malta Is Looking Like This Week
Did you sweat your way through most of yesterday? Well, you definitely weren’t alone, because the Meteorological Office ended a warm Sunday off by casually dropping the truth bomb that yesterday was indeed the hottest June day in Malta since 2007 (yes, that’s 12 years). Not only that, but Sunday 9th June was actually the hottest day in hot Malta in the last 24 months, with no one day in all of last summer reaching the insane 37°C we had yesterday. And we’re not even officially in summer yet. Eesh indeed.
So what’s the weather looking like for this week, I hear you ask? Well, mostly more of the same… but it seems like the temperature will (kind of) see the last of its recordbreaking peak today
Today sees highs of 35°C actually feel like 37°C thanks to the weak winds of Force 2 and 3 and the sky-high UV index of 10, so you probably won’t feel too different to yesterday’s intense heatwave. In fact, a yellow warning was up on the official Malta Airport forecast page ahead of today, warning people of the high temperatures which would be returning over the beginning of the week.
Over the week, the temperature may budge a little, going as “low” as 32°C on the slightly cloudy Wednesday… only to feel like 36°C again by Friday.
Oh, and with lows of 23°C and 24°C across the board, don’t expect to feel too fresh and cool any time soon.
Just remember kids; Always. Use. Sunscreen.
