‘Dry June’: June Experiences Increase In Temperature And Lack Of Rain

The weather’s getting hotter, with the month of June having been 1.6°C warmer than the climatic norm, according to the Malta International Airport’s June weather press release.

While this was not the highest temperature in June to ever be recorded, the 21st June peaked at 35.8°C, signalling our second heatwave. June 2021, on the other hand, experienced a temperature of 41.5°C. 

A lack of precipitation was also recorded, with only 3.8 mm of rain measured throughout the month. Sea surface temperatures also exceeded the climatic norm, by a total of 1.7°C. 

High temperatures are forecast for the coming days, with the Meteorological Office having issued a yellow weather warning, advising the public of the increase in temperatures within the coming days. 

It is expected to rise to 36°C between Monday and Tuesday, and the UV index is expected to be 10. 

Prepare yourselves for the coming days, it’s about to get hotter than ever.
