Have A Gloomy Halloween! October’s Last Week Could Be Holding Even More Storms For Malta

Article Featured Image

As predicted, Malta got a stormy end to the week yesterday morning (and last night), albeit slightly later than forecasted and with still relatively warm temperatures. Now, as October approaches its final days and Halloween Week rears its head, it seems like there’s more thunder and rain from where that came from.

According to the Malta International Airport official forecast, today’s mainly cloudy day could just be the finest weather for the week ahead, with highs of 24°C and infrequent sunny appearances making this a rather good and not-too-autumny day. The rest of the forecast, however, tells a slightly different story.

Tomorrow, isolated showers and a shifting wind from a southeasterly Force 2 to an overnight gust of northwest could bring with it a possibility of thunderstorms. In fact, last weekend saw some pretty heavy rainfall and storms over on neighbouring Sicily, and this Wednesday could see that bad weather potentially hitting the islands.

Currently, thunderstorms (and lower evening temperatures that could go all the way down to the mid 10s) are most likely to hit on Wednesday and Thursday… which will make Halloween Night all the more fitting for a dark and gloomy theme.

Rounding it all up with highs of 22°C, lows of 17°C and still-strong winds of Force 5 to 6 blowing from the northwest, Friday is currently set to also have some thundery showers.

All in all, it’s time to bring out those umbrellas and hoodies you quickly put back in after yesterday’s stormy start!
