Incoming Heatwave ‘Cerebrus’ Could Be Malta’s First And Last

It’s hot. It’s very hot. And it’s about to get hotter.

An incoming heatwave named ‘Cerebrus’ is set to hit Malta next week – it will be the first intense heatwave of the summer… and possibly, the last.

The islands will see temperatures of over 40°c and a UV index of 12 for a few consecutive days!

“No way there’s more, this is already hell,” an Instagram user commented.

Many other Mediterranean countries have already been hit with the heatwave, which is nicknamed after a mythical three-headed beast. The heat is already claiming lives in Italy.

Malta, being smack in the middle of the Mediterranean, is obviously no exception.

There is some hope though – this might also be the last heatwave of the season, just hang in there.

Local forecasting page It-Temp Madwarna said Malta might not get to experience temperatures these high for the rest of the summer.

Be sure to stay safe, drink lots of water and stay out of the sun during peak times of late mornings and early afternoons.

The weather should settle down by Sunday 23rd, with fresh winds descending from the north.

Do you have any tips on how to survive summer heatwaves?
