It’s Getting Hot In Here! Temperatures In Malta Set To Soar In Coming Days

Malta’s hot weather already hit the islands before the official start of summer. But things are about to get spicier in the coming days.

This weekend and next week, maximum UV and near-40°C temperatures will make you yearn for some beach time (or rather, a fully functioning AC).

News of the encroaching heat came from a popular Facebook weather page: Malta weather, which wrote that “a North African anticyclone will expand towards the entire Mediterranean Sea and bring higher than usual temperatures due to strong atmospheric subsidence.”

In addition, a seven-day forecast issued by Malta International airport confirmed that the Maltese sun won’t make a retreat anytime soon.

Every day of summer’s first weekend is expected to hit highs of 36°C (but we all know that with Maltese humidity, it will feel even hotter). And next week is looking even worse. By Tuesday, apparent temperatures are expected to hit a whopping 38°C, with the coldest temperatures still sitting over 25°C.

Meanwhile, with consecutive days of UV Indexes of 11, be very careful if you’re planning on spending prolonged times outside (maybe don’t).
