Jackets At The Ready! Temperatures In Malta Set To Drastically Drop For The Last Week Of November

Freezing temperatures aren’t really part of Maltese lifestyle. We islanders start shuddering as soon as the thermometer hits 15°C, and some nights last week finally made it to this “It’s as cold as you can expect Malta to get” limit. This week, though, it’s about to get significantly fresher.
Today’s windy start had some of us mistaking the blue skies for another hot day, but it’s only set to get fresher as November comes to a close. The strong Force 5 westerly winds are set to go up to Force 6 southwesterly gusts, getting even windier tomorrow.
As of tomorrow, northwesterly winds are set to go up all the way up to Force 7 at times. The highest temperature will also plummet from 21°C to 18°C, with the days nearly feeing colder than last week’s nights. As for the evenings, Tuesday’s lows of 16°C will keep going all the way down to 12°C on Thursday.
And while 12°C sounds beautifully warm next to current temperatures around Europe (Paris’ nights are going down to 3°C and London is set to get even colder tonight), Malta rarely sees temperatures of under 10°C.
Beyond the substantially fresher temperatures, Tuesday and Wednesday are also set to be bringing in some isolated showers to the islands, so best be sure your jacket has a hood!
The first weekend of December is looking even more wintery, with Friday’s mainly sunny and slightly warmer day giving way to a fresh, cloudy Saturday and a possibly thundery Sunday.
Even though the lowest temperatures (12°C) will be registered on Thursday and Friday evenings, the end of the week could be its wettest, with Sunday 2nd December possibly heralding thunderstorms back to the islands.
