Mediterranean Sea Hits Record-High Surface Temperature

The Mediterranean Sea has reached its highest temperature on record this week.

It was reported that the daily median of 28.90°C was recorded.

In 2023 the median value was of 28.71°C and that was the highest ever recorded.

Egypt recorded the highest temperature of 31.96°C its coast at El-Arish.

Surface temperatures have been abnormally high and for long periods since 2022 in the med. This has researchers particularly concerned as it has severe impacts on marine ecosystems.
