Sannat Pitch Covered In Hail With Temperatures Feeling Like 1°C

Article Featured Image

The people in Sannat, Gozo, experienced a white Christmas Eve eve yesterday with a hail storm hitting the area.

A football ground was covered in a layer of hail, an unusual sight which mimicked a typical snowy Christmas outside of Malta.

The weather around Christmas this year has been more extreme than previous ones, with this year actually being cold, windy, rainy and we even got some hail.

The Maltese islands don’t see hail too often and when we do, it melts within minutes of hitting the ground.

Alongside the hail, the temperature felt like 1°C, making the ice last longer on the ground.
