As the first full week of March rolls out, Malta is set to get a slight bump in temperatures. But as today is steadily proving, the warmer temperatures won’t be without their fair share of strong winds.
The rest of Monday is set to feature West Northwest winds of Force 6, which led the Malta International Airport site to issue a yellow warning this morning. The day should end with slightly calmer (but still relatively strong) winds of Force 5 from the Southwest. Temperatures will persist at highs of 18°C, which is just a couple of degrees warmer than the expected average for the month. Tonight will boast a temperature of 16°C, which is a whole 6°C warmer than the average lows for March.
As for the rest of the week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday look like they’re going to be mainly sunny and warm, sitting at just under 20°C. Lows will be gravitating around 10 and 12°C. The wind should continue gravitating between the lowest Force 3 on Wednesday morning to Forces 5 and 6. The latter will also be present on Thursday… which happens to be the one year anniversary of the Azure Window collapse.
The weekend is looking even better.
The persisting sunny days also featuring calmer southerly winds of Forces 2 and 3. Temperatures will start to slowly climb on Saturday, with Sunday featuring an impressive 22°C (definitely no jackets required). The lowest temperatures expected on Sunday should be 14°C, which is nearly as warm as Friday’s highs.
