Glaring sunshine and t-shirt weather are not what you’d expect from February in Malta, no less the mid-month “shipwreck weekend” of typically strong winds and rainy days. It is, however, what we got this month… but that might all be coming to an end ahead of February’s final weekend.

Following today’s cloudy yet warm start (highs are still sitting on 14°C), the situation on the island might soon turn more wintery. As the wind starts to pick up tonight, however, Force 3 winds will be going all way up to Northeasterly gusts of Force 6 by tomorrow.

Saturday is also when a possible thunderstorm might be heading to the islands, making the lows of 9°C feel even colder.

As for Sunday, the weather forecast currently has highs going down to 11°C as a very fresh (and potentially even wet) end to the weekend sees the wind go all the way up to Force 7. Lows on Sunday will also go all the way down to 8°C, so don’t forget your jackets at home!
