Stronger Winds And Hotter Temperatures: The Weather For Malta This Week Is In Full Summer Mode

Article Featured Image

If you haven’t been a fan of the sharp increase in warm temperatures that Malta has been getting over the last few weeks, we’ve got some bad news for you. Now that summer’s official start is merely 10 days away, this last month’s balmy weather is set to make way for some proper Mediterranean heat.

This week’s forecast has Malta gearing up for temperatures well into the 30s, with the first half of the week set to feel like 33°C. Add very mild winds of Force 2 and 3 all throughout Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and you’re looking at a lack of breeze which would otherwise offer some respite. The sunny days will also boast an intense UV index of 10 – which will soon enough become the norm for the next couple of months – along with still relatively warm lows of 20°C.

It is, however, the end of the week which might offer some slight relief from the hot onslaught.

Thursday sees the wind picking up, with Force 4 westerly and northerly gusts going up to Force 5 towards the end of the week. Like clockwork, the UV Index will drop a notch, along with the temperatures. Highs of 28°C (which should actually feel more like 31°C) will also see mainly sunny days gradually become cloudier over the weekend. And that’s only the beginning.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday are all showing cloudy weather on the menu, along with the return of strong Force 5 and 6 winds for the entire weekend. Windy weather has become increasingly more common in Malta, and this weekend is definitely not letting up.

An even lower UV Index of 8 on Saturday and Sunday will still mean sunblock is a must, but at least you’ve got a couple of more minutes to wait if you want to boil an egg on your car bonnet.

This weekend’s highs will only just about make it to 30°C through the apparent temperature, averaging out at highs of 27°C. The evenings’ temperatures will also take a hit, going just under the 20s for 18 and 19°C.
