Summer’s Not Over Yet: 30 Degrees And Over Forecasted For September

Even though the month of August is quickly coming to a close, summer’s far from over yet, with temperatures forecasted to exceed 30 degrees for September.

Current high temperatures are set to be maintained throughout the following month, effectively delaying rainfall.

“Meteorological autumn will start pretty much where summer left off with maximum temperatures rising to around the mid 30’s in September and the rainy season being delayed for several days!” Malta Weather said.

“Our current thinking is that October and November will be drier than usual,” it predicted.

However, at least one severe thunderstorm that could cause local damage is looking more and more likely.

“Furthermore, the possibility that a Medicane or Mediterranean hurricane will form later in the autumn increases as the current heat is expected to be maintained well into autumn!”

A Medicane is a tropical-like cyclone that forms in the Mediterranean Sea. We’ve often heard the term being thrown around during predictions, but we’re still yet to see one come to life.

The Malta International Airport is also predicting high temperatures for the next weeks, with this upcoming week set to see temperatures up to 34 degrees.
