If you’ve been secretly hoping for summer to come to Malta a little sooner than usual, your wish might soon be fulfilled. This week, which also happens to be the last full week of April, is serving up sunnier days, calmer winds, and higher temperatures. And at this rate, May might bring an early start to Malta’s summer.

This whole week will be seeing the temperature sitting on a warm 23°C, climbing to on days like Tuesday 25°C. This is bound to feel even warmer thanks to the (finally) calm Force 2 and 3 winds, not to mention that for most of the week, the wind will be blowing from a southerly direction. The lowest temperatures won’t drop below 14°C, which was the maximum temperature up to a couple of weeks ago. Oh, and add a UV Index of 8 to the mix, and you’ve got your hands on an early sunbathing opportunity.

If you’ve been groaning at the thought of sunny, warm days with calm southerly winds, the weekend has got just what you’re looking for.

While perhaps not that huge of a difference, the temperature will go back down to 23°C over the weekend, and all three days are set to feature some cloud cover. The winds will flip to blow from a northerly direction, and will also going up to Forces 4 and 5 for some much-needed breezy moments. Even the UV index is set to go down a factor. However, interestingly enough, the temperature in the evening will be going up, to settle at 16°C for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
