‘This Is Not A Joke’: Weather Alarm Raised After Yesterday’s ‘Unreal’ Humidity Hints At Omen For Malta’s Summer

Yesterday might’ve seen a whole lot of companies trying to prank their followers and customers, but one thing that definitely wasn’t a joke was the heat which hit the Maltese islands.
“For me to be writing this, it must mean there are people who are interested in the weather,” Aġġornament tat-Temp’s admin started, sharing his own personal data along with the Met Office. “I had to compare my data because when i was gathering it, I felt I had to compare to a trusted source.”
Yesterday morning, the page joined in on the 1st April shenanigans, saying a potential thunderstorm could hit Malta. But hours later, “going back to seriousness”, it warned that today “will continue to be mentioned as a day where the temperature hit the hottest that’s ever been registered in April.”
“Today, the weather hit 24.6°C,” the post continued. “This is not an April Fool’s joke. This is reality. And a reality which is very concerning, because the humidity dropped to 38%.”
“An island surrounded by sea with such a low humidity,” Aġġornament tat-Temp continued, raising alarm on the situation. “Obviously, this is the data that I had to verify. But it’s real. A reality which will definitely continue raising the temperature. A reality which not many people take notice of.”

So what can this mean? Well, a number of things.
“An earlier summer with hotter days that last longer, but it can also be a summer where we have surprise thunderstorms,” Aġġornament tat-Temp wrote. “This is because every area of low pressure will end up meeting a high pressure one, with hot seas and low humidity.”
“Will summer end earlier and finish early too? It’s difficult to say, but it will definitely start earlier,” the page continued to warn.
“Even though April will still give us some more rain… to remind us about the weather of the past.”
